Description

Crispy baked chicken coated in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze—no deep frying needed! Perfectly crunchy, juicy, and packed with flavor.


Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup regular breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

For the Hot Honey Glaze:

  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Soak chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for 30+ minutes.
  2. Preheat Oven: 425°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with a wire rack.
  3. Breading: Mix panko, breadcrumbs, and spices. Dredge chicken, pressing firmly.
  4. Bake: Place on rack, spray with oil, and bake 20–25 minutes until 165°F internal temp.
  5. Glaze: Melt butter, honey, hot sauce, and pepper flakes. Drizzle over baked chicken.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use a wire rack and broil 1–2 minutes at the end.
  • Adjust spice level by reducing/increasing hot sauce.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge; reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
